Smoking restrictions are in line with Queensland State law which stipulates that smoking is not permitted within five metres of any airport structure. Smoking is not permitted within five metres of public transport (ie taxis) waiting points. Bundaberg Regional Airport does not have designated smoking areas.

CCTV

Public safety is a key priority at Bundaberg Regional Airport and CCTV is used extensively throughout the terminal and its precincts. Images may be provided to Queensland Police or other law enforcement agencies. Your personal information will not be disclosed to any other person or organisation external to Council unless required or authorised by law.

Emergency assembly area

In the rare instance that an evacuation is required of the Bundaberg Regional Airport terminal and adjacent buildings, the emergency assembly area is located to the north of the terminal, at the end of the covered walkway.

Passenger screening

Security screening of all passengers occurs at the entry point to the departure lounge. The screening process involves a combination of the following measures:

  • The x-ray of goods, items and bags
  • Walking through a metal detector
  • Walking through a body scanner
  • Random explosive trace detection (ETD) on persons and goods

Our security screening personnel undergo training in assisting passengers and visitors with the security screening process. The training is in accordance with Federal regulations and ensures that the needs of all patrons are handled appropriately, whilst maintaining the integrity of the security processes.
