Do you have a passion for animals?

Alexandra Park Zoo’s Volunteer Program has a number of dedicated volunteers ranging from high school students to retirees. Volunteers have the opportunity to learn about animals, contribute to our conservation programs and connect visitors with nature.

What do volunteers do?

  • Welcome visitors to the zoo
  • Prepare food for the animals
  • Prepare and provide enrichment
  • Learn about and undertake animal care

You can expect to learn a range of tasks while helping to care for the zoo animals. You could be cleaning enclosures, chopping food, raking leaves or assisting with animal health plans. No experience is required as long as you are enthusiastic and willing!
